Jesus is our living hope. Salvation in Him gives us eternal life. That life is the gift of His presence by and thru the Holy Ghost. When we are in Him and He is within us, then our lives become eternal – living forever as does He. Now whether we experience a manifestation of the consciousness of this eternal existence on earth we are not sure but it is the foretold hope that we are indeed hoping or rather believing for.
My ponderings stream from the experience of coming here completely unaware of our origins and yet aware enough to sense a knowing that there is so much more to life than what we see. Having an even stronger connection with a realm which we CANNOT. Yet, a deep knowing from within us tells us so. Then on occasion, we cross paths with others like ourselves and the light becomes much clearer. We draw closer to the truth we’ve sensed all along – That we are sojourners from another place. And those voices from our earthly past ring in our ears. “She has always been different.; “He isn’t a normal child”; “She is special”; “I don’t quite know what to do with him”. They were right! We are different!
We aren’t normal as society sees normal. We are zealous, unique, requiring a different nurturing that comes from the hand of God to rear us up into the sons and daughters He designed us to be. Is this what Jesus experienced? Did He come to a point of clear recognition? Or did He know emphatically who He was? At least, before the age of 12 anyways. We will never know… at least not in this lifetime, lest He reveal it of course.
Our hope is found when we discover that our identity is in Him (A hope for a peaceful today, better tomorrow, brighter future). We learn to reconcile who we were with who we are and then move in that vein.. Now THAT gives us hope! And it is with this hope that our faith is strengthened as we walk out our new life. We come to know more and more Someone whom we cannot see which is Christ in us. He is the hope of glory!
